発表概要
With the conclusion of the Republican National Convention and Democratic National Convention in July, the U.S. presidential campaign of 2016 is entering the home stretch as we approach the election on November 8. Many Americans believe that this election could be the most consequential in postwar America since the two major candidates, Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump, offer starkly different assessments of the challenges faced by America and the policy prescriptions to address them. This includes both domestic and foreign policy. With particular regard to U.S.-Japan relations, we are likely to see very a different vision for America's approach to Japan depending on whether a Clinton Administration or a Trump Administration takes office in January 20, 2017.Mr. Glen S. Fukushima, who is based in Washington, D.C., is a member of Hillary Clinton's Asia Working Group, and attended the Democratic National Convention, will provide his analysis of the upcoming election and its implications.
