兼原研究主幹は、2026年4月29日に、国連のDivision of Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea（国際連合法務部海事・海洋法局）において、国連―日本財団フェローおよびシャーリーアメラシンゲフェローのために、「国家管轄権外区域の海洋生物多様性の保全及び持続可能な利用に関する国連海洋法条約の下での協定（BBNJ協定）」についての講義をオンラインで実施しました。
講義は、BBNJ協定の海洋法の歴史からみた意義を説明するとともに、2026年1月17日に同協定が発効したことから、今後望まれる発展についてもふれました。
