開催趣旨
　講師のダピス教授は、ベトナム、ミャンマーやインドネシアなどにおいて、政府等の依頼を受けエネルギーをはじめとする経済基盤開発や社会制度整備に長期にわたり貢献してきた実績がある。同時にこれらの国のみならずアセアン全体にわたり政府やビジネス界等に広範な人的ネットワークを有する米国を代表する地域の専門家である。現在もミャンマーのラカイン州における宗教対立等に関し積極的に提言・活動を行なっているところである。
　今回のセミナーでは、これまでのこのような経験と知見を踏まえ、この地域のエネルギー開発の現状と展望について講演していただき、議論を行う。特に、再生可能エネルギーを中心に、今後さらに開発が必要なミャンマーとベトナムに焦点を当てる予定である。

発表者紹介
Professor David Ogden Dapice received his PhD in Economics from Harvard University in 1973. From then on, he served as an associate professor and chair of Economics Department at Tufts University until 2016. He jointed Harvard University from 1990 as a faculty associate and chief economist of Indochina Program, and served as chief economist of Vietnam and Myanmar Program from 2000. He also has long time experiences of consultancies focused on Southeast Asia for the governments of Thai, Indonesia, and Vietnam, as well as international institutions (such as UNDP and World Bank) and universities.
