President Toshihiko FUKUI
Mr. Fukui joined the Bank of Japan in 1958 after graduation from the University of Tokyo. Having served for three decades in several positions, he took up the position of Executive Director in 1989-94, and Deputy Governor in 1994-98. He left the Bank of Japan once in 1998. In 1998-2003 he worked as Chairman at Fujitsu Research Institute. Then he was appointed the Governor of the Bank of Japan and served for the period between 2003 and 2008. Since December 2008, he has been at the current position of the President of the Canon Institute for Global Studies.
Director・Special Advisor Akinari HORII
Mr. Horii joined the Bank of Japan in 1974 after graduation from the University of Tokyo. He worked at the Bank of Japan for three decades. Meanwhile he also worked at the BIS in Basel, Switzerland, Japan’s Ministry of Finance, and the Institute for International Policy Studies in Tokyo. In 2006 he was appointed Assistant Governor of the Bank of Japan, and he stepped down in June 2010. Since July 2010, he has been at the current position.
