Employment

According to the labor force survey report released in March 2018 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the unemployment rate as of January 2018 was 2.4%, the lowest since April 1993. People who benefit from this are university students who graduate in March 2018 and get employed in April 2018.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology announced a survey of employment inquiries among university students graduating in March 2018. The percentage of those who have decided to find employment as of December 1, 2017 is 86% overall, of which 87% are female and 85.2% are male. As shown in Figure 1, this is about 20% higher than the rate of university students who graduated in March 2011 and decided to find employment. Figure 2 shows the final employment rate at the time of graduation. It is expected that almost all those who graduate in March 2018 and wish to get a job can succeed in getting a job.
