CIGS Discussion Paper (11-E001) "Study of the Blair Government's Healthcare Financial Reform from a perspective of soundness and fairness"

This paper focuses on the effects of the healthcare reform of the British Labour Party Administration under Prime Minister Blair on finances from the point of view of its soundness and fairness. It is hard for Advanced countries to maintain public finances as the Welfare State and the healthcare policy is the most important issue. Accordingly, the Hashimoto and Koizumi Administration followed a policy of privatization similar to that of the Conservative Government under the Thatcher and Major eras. Therefore, I think that by studying the Blair Government we can predict the future of Japan. ..........
